Lubbock Memorial Arboretum Family Session

It rarely rains in Lubbock, right? I don’t often realize how little rain we get until there is a storm on its way in. Well, I recently had the opportunity to meet this LOVELY family – we had their session scheduled for the ONE DAY when a massive thunderstorm was rolling through town! We spent the morning watching the forecast, and ultimately decided to roll the dice. Really thankful we did! We had such a great time exploring the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum, while the littles chased leaves and squirrels. We dodged the rain by about an hour, and really enjoyed the cool pre-storm temperatures.

One thing I really enjoyed about this session was the opportunity to get creative. Ahead of our meeting, Sarah mentioned that their family really likes green backdrops + trees. GIRL, SAME. So when we picked our location and I saw that the trees weren’t quite as full and green just yet, I took it as a challenge! My goal was to photograph this session in a way that made it LOOK more like Spring than it actually was. And I’m really happy with how it all turned out!!!
