Colorful Northern Virginia Wedding | Saskia + Alex

Friday was such a special day.  I had the honor of photographing Saskia + Alex as they said their vows at McLean Presbyterian Church in Northern Virginia.  These two are such a great couple — I love seeing the way they compliment one another, and watching how they both light up when with the other.  I knew their wedding day would be sweet and special, but I had no idea as to how many feelings I MYSELF would have!!!  It’s no secret that I often get a little teary-eyed on wedding days, and this special event was definitely no exception.  One little story I just have to share: Saskia chose to wear her mother’s wedding dress, which was made by her Oma many years ago.  When it came time for her to get into her gown, she mentioned that NO ALTERATIONS needed to be made in order for that dress to fit her perfectly.  What are the odds of that?  Gives me goosebumps.  I really don’t think it was a coincidence, and I believe that both women were remembered and honored by Saskia wearing that beautiful dress.

Thank you, Saskia + Alex, for letting me share in your big day.  Enjoy some of my favorites!!!!
